On this page I'm gonna talk about games I like !
Like A Dragon (originally called Yakuza) is one of SEGA's top dogs, and one of my favorite game series. The series follows the Yakuza, Japanese criminal organizations, like the Mafia.
Yakuza is at it's surface an action-adventure game and melodramatic crime drama. But the game's let you pretty thoroughly explore the featured cities, and they pack it with tons of side content. So after you see a building get blown up or something or your favorite character get killed, you can then go sing karaoke or race RC cars minutes later to take off the edge. The dissonance between these two things, and the fact that they try to fully commit to both sides of it, makes it incredibly charming to me.
Unfortunately, the more quality of the more recent entries (after around Lost Judgment maybe) hasn't been... always the best. So its been a little rough as a Yakuza fan. Revisiting the old games is still fun (and its not like the new stuff is entirely bad), and I'm looking forward to Stranger Than Heaven.

I have a lot to say about Yakuza, so I think I will put that in another section. For now, let's move on ! !!
Devil May Cry are hack-and-slash action games made by Capcom. You hack demons, you slash demons, and you shoot them. The games star Dante, half demon son of the legendary dark knight Sparda. The combat is very fun and satisfying, but also challenging. And it's also just really cool. The first one is a little, jank, since it released in 2001. It was actually intended to be a resident evil game. But, the game is still surprisingly fun if you can look past that. It also has some really, bad, dialogue, but it's quoatable in a "so bad it's good" way. Devil May Cry properly introduces us to Vergil, Dante's brother, and probably one of the most iconic things about Devil May Cry, excluding Dante himself. DMC3 has very fluid combat, and it definitely holds up way better than the first entry. DMC4 is slightly more forgettable than DMC3, but it's still very good, and was my favorite for a while lol. It introduces Nero, Dante's nephew, with a funny arm. And DMC5 is the newest game, and probably the most polished by far. The games also have a pretty iconic soundtrack. It's just a good time.

This is a game I've sunk many, many hours in (as in, several thousand). I've been playing it since I was pretty little. The game's progression is just so addicting. Every bit of progress you make feels so rewarding, and the game is grindy, but it makes you want to grind. Somehow each gameplay element just occasionally rings in my head and makes me do a playthrough, each accessory upgrade or new ore or boss fight, just has such a satisfying click to it. And there's just so much to do. I did a playthrough recently where I finally paid attention to stuff like golf or RC cars, and even that is too fun.

With all the DLC, this is probably one of the best roguelites ever. I've also been playing this game for a very long time. Which is funny, cuz the game is a little crazy with it's subject material, but I didn't care then lol. I was first introduced to Isaac from the Flash version, with the first two levels. I really liked it, so eventually I got the full paid game on Steam. The original Isaac, the one that was still animated in Flash. Even though Rebirth was already out. And I didn't even realize for months. I saw youtubers play the remake (which has a completely different artstyle), and it somehow just didn't click that it was two different games for a long time. Anyways, its always fun to just hop on a run and get some absurdly broken synergy going. Mods are fun too, and its just a cool game all around.
This was my first FromSoftware game, and pretty much my first Soulslike. And as it stands, pretty much my only of either still . I was amazed when I played it. Everything about it just felt right, the difficulty perfectly planned out. I wanted to try every weapon and explore every nook and cranny of the map. It was a really awesome time. The DLC was like that, but even cooler because I could go in completely blind. It was one of the funnest gaming experiences I've had. Really great game!
Mahjong. Fuck yes.
I was introduced to (riichi) mahjong by Yakuza, and have been addicted since. So yeah. If you wanna play Mahjong, and you end up using Mahjong Soul from it, you might see me. My username is "LameDuckSudo", named after one of the possible names for mahjong opponents in Yakuza. Also mahjong soul has lots of anime girls. And anime boys. But even after all these years, I'm still just "Adept" rank. Well. That's how it goes.
Planning out your farm is always such a great time in this game, and it has a lot of heart and a great soundtrack. Also, really fun in multiplayer!
Another cool Farming RPG, it differs from Stardew Valley in a lot of different ways. It's crazy how it feels like you can level up anything in this game, from walking, to bathing, to more obvious stuff like farming. I would say it is a little more combat focused than Stardew, but there's just a lot of stuff to do. Monster taming is another fun thing. It's just a really cute game, I loved my time with it.
Yay! Gambling! Poker! This game is easy to get addicted to, and it's one of my first picks for turning off my brain. Or for turning on my brain if I want to like, win.
This one is kind of an oddball . It is like, half story game, half Real Time Stategy game. And I don't mean it's a Real Time Strategy game with story, I mean there is literally two seperate parts, you choose between either story or RTS on the main menu lol. The story is probably this game's highlight, but for the brief moments where you're actually playing the RTS stuff, I personally thought it was really fun. I honestly don't like RTS games, but it made me addicted and want more. It's too bad it's short.
This is Persona, pretty much. It's made by the same team that made Persona. But with a cool fantasy coat of paint. Honestly, I haven't played Persona, but this game made a really good impression on me. JRPG isn't a genre I really seek out, but this impressed me with a very fun game and a very fun story with characters I cared about.
I honestly I can't claim to have done much of the visual novel stuff. And I'm not particularly good at the rhythm game. But I do like Project Sekai ! ! Maybe just because I like to spam the stickers. Plus it's vocaloid stuff and I mindlessly consume any vocaloid slop I see. Also there's some solid covers of vocaloid songs. Wonderhoy!
